Hi Everyone! My name is Briana Southward. Health and nutritious food has always been a passion of mine. After an honours business degree, a year teaching in South Korea and a couple years as a marketing consultant in Toronto, I decided it was time to follow my passion and become a holistic nutritionist. I am currently working in Toronto, however, starting January 7th, 2011, I will be dedicating some Fridays to offering my services at the dental office in Beamsville. I believe that I can do this for up to 20 clients. Below is an overview of my organization and the service I provide.
The company I started is called Revercell Nutrition. We provide the tools and support necessary for clients to reverse disease by bringing the body back to optimal health using therapeutic lifestyle changes. The main health areas of focus include high cholesterol, high blood pressure, overweight/obesity, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. We often hear people talk about preventing and managing disease, but we don't commonly hear the term reverse. Reversing an illness involves bringing the body back to a state of balanced health whereby the disease no longer exists in the body and the dependency on medication is reduced or eliminated. In most cases, reversing these illnesses is entirely possible when the proper programs are implemented.
Our program is based on scientifically proven methods of healing the body from disease and focuses on therapeutic lifestyle changes involving diet, supplementation, stress reduction, clinical detoxification, digestion optimization, the balancing of acid/alkaline levels, food intolerance elimination, exercise, and other lifestyle related modifications.
We firmly believe in individualism. Therefore, we do not think that there is one way of eating that is beneficial for everyone. Our assessment methods allow us to determine what is optimal for that specific individual and we then provide support accordingly. With the right therapeutic support, the body is often able to heal itself and reverse disease. A case study example involves a Type 2 diabetic on 19 different medications. When using therapeutic lifestyle changes this individual was able to eliminate the need for all 19 medications and had naturally stabilized his blood sugar. These types of results are exciting and possible.
Like dentistry, holistic nutrition is not guesswork. It is strategically guided using measurable parameters. At the Toronto office we use scientifically proven methods to help determine starting points and measure progress. One of the methods used is bioimpedance analysis technology. With this machine we can determine mass distribution (e.g. fat, fat free mass, active tissue mass, etc, all in pounds or as a percentage), water levels, and whether that water is inside or outside of the cell. Additionally, Iridology is used to help identify inherent weaknesses, areas of the body where nutritional support would be beneficial, stomach acid health, the shape of the digestive tract, toxicity, effectiveness of the various elimination channels, etc. Furthermore, we use blood tests that have been provided from Naturopathic Doctors and Medical Doctors to help track biomarkers and ensure progress. I have found that working together with these health professionals is the best way to ensure optimal care for our clients.
Our Toronto office is located within the Integrative Health Institute, where we work along with a number of health professionals including naturopathic, chiropractic and medical doctors. I am very excited that I will be able to offer this fantastic therapeutic lifestyle program in Beamsville, starting Friday, January 7th 2011. I will personally be meeting with the clients one-on-one and I can take on a maximum of 20 people at this time. If you or any of your family members would like more information, you may contact me directly at bsouthward@integrativehealthinstitute.ca. I look forward to meeting some of you in person and working towards creating optimal health!
Yours In health,
Briana Southward
