Dentistry in Guatemala and Peru

In Canada, we enjoy a high level of both preventive and restorative dental care. We also have many very committed health professionals to deliver that care. Sometimes dental care at a more modest level goes international. While I have not done any dentistry in foreign lands, some of my friends and colleagues are venturing forth with our interest and support. See below-

Dentistry in Guatemala-
Dr. John Snively is a classmate of mine. Presently, he is running a dental clinic in Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. You can follow his blog and even make donations if you wish on his web site. Here are some pictures and the link for more pictures and information http://www.icoatitlan.blogspot.com

This is Dr. John and his local dental assistants working with a portable dental bed and equipment.

Dental education plays a big role.

Mission to Peru
Justine is an RN and a friend of Lorna's. Her group recognizes the importance of dental health in their mission to Peru. Her upcoming trip this summer will be her second one to Peru. Congratulations.

Justine demonstrates how much fun it is to volunteer and we can see the appreciation of the locals for her care.

Once again, preventive dental education is a big part of the effort.

Yours for better dental health around the world.
Dr. Ken Southward
